七零年代的沙頭角

 

在1970至1980年代，現時仁壽堂的位置是泰新隆米鋪，新樓街的店鋪依次為1號天壽堂藥行、2號五旬節聖潔會沙頭角堂、3號大新金行、4號復祥雜貨、5號萬生堂藥行、6號王昌泰米鋪、7號新隆金行、8號鉅光雜貨、9號仁壽堂藥行、10號一定好山貨、11號先後為廣興隆雜貨和永壽堂藥行、12號順興布料雜貨、13號天華布匹、14號永成昌雜貨、15號同華洋服、16號大眾山貨、17號黃姓牙醫（前）和棺材鋪（後）、18號逸生昌、19號協記雜貨、20號光亞山貨（兼營船隻零件）、21號雲昌麵包餅店、22號榮豐泰雜貨，還未包括在樓上營業的店鋪和服務，如診所及照相館等等；此外，亦有攤販會在店面前方的街道上搭棚經營各類生意，出售飯麵的熟食檔、水果檔、衣服攤等，現時公廁旁邊的位置則是當年售賣新鮮餸菜的濕貨街市。一條短短的街道上，不僅為那時的沙頭角居民提供不少便利，亦照顧了鄰近鄉郊地區的民生需要。

In the 1970s and 1980s, Tai Sun Lung Rice Shop occupied the site of Yan Sau Tong today. In successive order, shops on San Lau Street were Tien Sau Tong Medicine Shop at No. 1, Sha Tau Kok Pentecostal Holiness Church at No.2, Dai Sun Jewellery Shop at No. 3, Fook Cheung Grocery Shop at No. 4, Man Sang Tong Medicine Shop at No. 5, Wong Cheong Tai Rice Shop at No. 6, Sun Lung Jewellery Shop at No. 7, Kui Kwong Grocery Shop at No. 8, Yan Sau Tong Medicine Shop at No. 9, Yat Ding Ho Mountain Goods at No. 10, Kwong Hing Lung Grocery Store and Wing Sau Tong Medicine Shop that occupied No. 11 in different periods, Shun Hing Fabric and Grocery Store at No. 12, Tin Wah Fabric shop at No. 13, Wing Shing Cheong Grocery Shop at No. 14, Tong Wah Tailor Shop at No. 15, Tai Chung Mountain Goods at No. 16, a dentist named Wong (front shop space) and coffin shop (rear shop space) at No. 17, Yat Sang Cheong at No. 18, Hip Kee Grocery Shop at No. 19, Kwong Ah Mountain Goods (also selling vessel spare parts) at No. 20, Wan Cheong Bakery at No. 21 and Wing Fung Tai Grocery Shop at No. 22, not counting upper-floor shops and services, such as clinics and photo studios. In addition, hawkers traded all sorts of goods in street stalls outside the shops. Offers included cooked rice and noodle dishes, fresh fruit and clothes. The spot next to the public toilet today was a wet market where villagers bought fresh cooking ingredients.This high street not only made shopping easy for Sha Tau Kok residents, but also looked after the livelihood needs of nearby rural communities.
